Pigeon adenovirus is a common pathogenic virus in pigeons. The virus particles are non - enveloped and have an icosahedral symmetric structure. Its transmission is extremely rapid. It mainly spreads through pigeons eating contaminated feed and drinking water. In densely populated pigeon flocks, if one pigeon is infected, many others can be affected in a short time.

Infected pigeons mainly show symptoms such as vomiting, food - tossing, crop impaction and flaccidity, listlessness, and often huddling in corners in the early stage. After the disease progresses, the feces are abnormal, showing yellow - green loose stools, and obvious weight loss occurs. To diagnose pigeon adenovirus, clinical symptoms, pathological necropsy, and serological tests need to be comprehensively considered.

Clinical Application:

· Early - stage Diagnosis:
In the disease diagnosis stage, when pigeons show early and mild symptoms such as occasional food - tossing and slightly listless spirit, and it is difficult to make a diagnosis with the naked eye alone, this reagent can, with its high sensitivity and specificity, quickly detect the nucleic acid of pigeon adenovirus and accurately determine whether the pigeon is infected, avoiding the delay of the treatment opportunity due to misdiagnosis.

· Therapeutic Detection:
In the monitoring of the treatment process, veterinarians use PCR nucleic acid detection reagents to compare the changes in the viral nucleic acid load through multiple detections, and intuitively understand the treatment effect. If the load continues to decrease, it indicates that the current treatment plan is effective; conversely, it suggests that the medication or treatment method needs to be adjusted to help the pigeons recover their health as soon as possible.
