Symptoms

  • Respiratory Symptoms: Cattle infected with Mycoplasma bovis often exhibit symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, and dyspnea. The cough is usually persistent and may worsen in the early morning or after exercise. As the disease progresses, the respiratory rate increases, the breath sounds become harsh, and sometimes rales can be heard.

  • Joint Symptoms: Some diseased cattle may experience joint swelling, pain, reluctance to stand and walk, and obvious lameness. There is often fluid in the joint cavity, and a fluctuating sensation can be felt when touching the joint. In severe cases, joint function is impaired, affecting the normal activities and production performance of cattle.

  • Mastitis Symptoms: The udders of affected cows are swollen and hot, and the milk shows abnormalities such as being thin, having flocculent substances or clots, and the color may turn yellow or red. The milk yield decreases significantly, and the quality of milk deteriorates, causing great economic losses to dairy farming.

Clinical Applications

  • Rapid and Accurate Diagnosis: The reagent can detect the nucleic acid of Mycoplasma bovis in the early stage of infection, providing a basis for the early diagnosis of the disease. Compared with the traditional bacterial culture method, the detection speed is faster, and the result can be obtained in a few hours. Moreover, it has high specificity and sensitivity, which can effectively avoid missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis.

  • Large - scale Epidemiological Investigation: When conducting large - scale detection in cattle herds, the nucleic acid detection reagent can quickly screen out the individuals infected with Mycoplasma bovis, which is helpful to understand the epidemic situation of Mycoplasma bovis in different regions and cattle herds, and provide data support for formulating targeted prevention and control measures.

  • Disease Monitoring and Prevention and Control: Farms can regularly use this reagent to monitor cattle herds, timely detect potentially infected cattle, and take measures such as isolation, treatment, or culling to prevent the spread of the epidemic. At the same time, when introducing new cattle, nucleic acid detection can effectively exclude bacteria - carrying cattle and avoid introducing pathogens to ensure the health of the cattle herd.

  • Research and Vaccine Development: In the research of Mycoplasma bovis, the nucleic acid detection reagent can be used to analyze the genetic characteristics of different strains, providing basic data for vaccine research and development. In addition, when evaluating the effect of the vaccine, by detecting the nucleic acid load of mycoplasma in cattle after immunization, it can be judged whether the vaccine has effectively induced the body's immune response, which is of great significance for the optimization and improvement of the vaccine.

Revolutionizing Canine Leptospirosis Detection with PCR
In the realm of veterinary medicine, few diseases demand as much attention as leptospirosis—a zoonotic bacterial infection that poses a significant threat to both dogs and humans. Endemic worldwide, this disease is transmitted through contact with urine-contaminated water or soil, often leading to severe kidney and liver damage, pulmonary hemorrhage, and even death. Early and accurate diagnosis is critical for effective treatment and preventing transmission. However, traditional diagnostic methods have long posed challenges—until now.
