Mycobacterium Bovis (MB) Nucleic Acid Test Kit (Lyophilized)

This is a PCR nucleic acid detection reagent kit used to detect Mycobacterium Bovis (MB). Real-time PCR technology has the characteristics of fast, sensitive, highly specific and high accuracy. Utilizing this technology and the FLASHTEST PCR reagent kit, it can accurately diagnose whether cows carry Mycobacterium Bovis (MB).

Symptoms

  • Respiratory Symptoms: Infected cattle often experience chronic cough, which can be mild at first but gradually worsens over time. There may be labored breathing, especially during exercise or when the animal is under stress. A characteristic feature is the presence of a productive cough, with the expectoration of mucus - like sputum that may contain blood in advanced cases.

  • Weight Loss and Weakness: Cattle suffering from bovine tuberculosis show progressive weight loss despite normal or even increased appetite in some cases. They become weak, lethargic, and have reduced stamina, which is evident in their decreased ability to perform normal activities such as grazing or walking long distances.

  • Lymph Node Enlargement: The lymph nodes, especially those in the head, neck (such as the submandibular and retropharyngeal lymph nodes), and chest (mediastinal lymph nodes), become enlarged. These enlarged lymph nodes can be felt as firm, painless swellings under the skin or within the body cavity. In some cases, the lymph nodes may rupture, discharging purulent material.

  • Digestive Symptoms: In some instances, the infection can spread to the digestive tract, leading to diarrhea, reduced feed intake, and poor digestion. This can further contribute to the overall decline in the animal's health and productivity.

Clinical Applications

  • Early Diagnosis: The MB nucleic acid detection reagent enables the early identification of the pathogen in cattle. Since the symptoms of bovine tuberculosis can be non - specific in the initial stages, this reagent can detect the presence of the bacteria even before the onset of overt symptoms. This early detection is crucial for implementing timely control measures, such as isolation of infected animals and decontamination of the environment.

  • Herd Screening: Regular screening of cattle herds using this reagent is an essential part of tuberculosis control programs. It helps to identify both clinically affected and subclinically infected animals. In large - scale dairy and beef cattle operations, routine screening can significantly reduce the prevalence of the disease and protect the overall health of the herd.

  • Differential Diagnosis: Bovine tuberculosis can be misdiagnosed as other respiratory or systemic diseases due to overlapping symptoms. The nucleic acid detection reagent plays a vital role in accurately differentiating MB from other pathogens, such as other mycobacterial species, pneumonia - causing bacteria, or parasitic infections. This accurate diagnosis is essential for appropriate treatment and management.

  • Quarantine and Import - Export Control: In the context of international trade and movement of cattle, the MB nucleic acid detection reagent is used for quarantine purposes. It ensures that exported cattle are free from tuberculosis, meeting international health standards and preventing the spread of the disease across regions.

  • Monitoring Disease Progression and Treatment Efficacy: For cattle that are being treated for tuberculosis, the reagent can be used to monitor the disease progression. By detecting changes in the bacterial load over time, veterinarians can assess the effectiveness of the treatment regimen. If the treatment is not successful, indicated by a persistent or increasing bacterial load, alternative treatment strategies can be explored.

Revolutionizing Canine Leptospirosis Detection with PCR
In the realm of veterinary medicine, few diseases demand as much attention as leptospirosis—a zoonotic bacterial infection that poses a significant threat to both dogs and humans. Endemic worldwide, this disease is transmitted through contact with urine-contaminated water or soil, often leading to severe kidney and liver damage, pulmonary hemorrhage, and even death. Early and accurate diagnosis is critical for effective treatment and preventing transmission. However, traditional diagnostic methods have long posed challenges—until now.
