Fowl Adenovirus (FADV), belonging to the genus Aviadenovirus of the Adenoviridae family, can cause various diseases in poultry, resulting in substantial economic losses to the poultry industry. The FADV nucleic acid detection reagent is a tool used to detect the presence of FADV nucleic acid in poultry. It mainly relies on technologies such as Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR, and Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP).

Clinical Applications

  • Disease Diagnosis: When poultry show symptoms suspected of FADV infection, such as inclusion body hepatitis and hydropericardium syndrome, like depression, loss of appetite, ruffled feathers, hydropericardium, and enlarged liver with bleeding points, this detection reagent can quickly and accurately determine whether it is an FADV infection, providing a basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

  • Epidemic Monitoring: In poultry farms, regularly testing poultry for FADV nucleic acid can promptly detect the presence of virus infection in the flock, enabling the early implementation of prevention and control measures to prevent the spread and outbreak of the epidemic. For example, in large-scale chicken farms, sampling and testing chickens from different chicken houses every week can effectively monitor the infection status of FADV.

  • Breeding Poultry Screening: For breeding poultry farms, by detecting whether breeding poultry are infected with FADV, healthy breeding poultry can be screened out, vertical transmission can be avoided, the health of offspring chicks can be ensured, and breeding efficiency can be improved.

  • Vaccine Efficacy Evaluation: After using FADV vaccines, by detecting the content of virus nucleic acid in the poultry flock, the immune effect of the vaccine can be evaluated. If the content of virus nucleic acid in the poultry flock is significantly reduced or undetectable after immunization, it indicates that the vaccine has a good immune effect.

Revolutionizing Canine Leptospirosis Detection with PCR
In the realm of veterinary medicine, few diseases demand as much attention as leptospirosis—a zoonotic bacterial infection that poses a significant threat to both dogs and humans. Endemic worldwide, this disease is transmitted through contact with urine-contaminated water or soil, often leading to severe kidney and liver damage, pulmonary hemorrhage, and even death. Early and accurate diagnosis is critical for effective treatment and preventing transmission. However, traditional diagnostic methods have long posed challenges—until now.
